WNF report Apes in Gabon

In September 2009 WWF published a report about apes and logging. A researcher of the University of Barcelona made a comparison between unharvested and harvested areas (10 years ago) in the Precious Woods’ FSC-concessions in Gabon. According to his findings, the conclusion is that the density of gorilla’s is equal in both areas. The gorilla’s are not afraid of people and build their nests within a few hundred meters of the road. Download the full report Apes in Gabon.
