FSC castanha rosa is available in large quantities in the forests of Precious Woods, located in the Amazon region of Brazil. The tree reaches larger diameters, which makes it possible to produce bigger sizes in sawn wood.
Appearance:
The heartwood has a yellow brown colour, with sometimes a pinkish glow. It darkens a little to red brown. Plain sawn timber shows a nice pattern. The sapwood is less easy to distinguish. The grain is straight and the texture is fine.
Working properties:
Machining goes well with a smooth result. After sanding the surface is smooth as a mirror. Pre-drilling is recommended. With gluing and finishing are some positive experiences. Drying goes easy with less problems.

Ground contact: durable, above ground: very durable
Uses:
Castanha rosa has a good stability, also in the end use can be used for different purposes:
interior: e.g. furniture and carpentry
exterior: e.g. uses like garden furniture, deckings and garden timber
